Wilson’s Warbler is a tiny, energetic bird with a brilliant yellow body and, in males, a distinctive black cap. It breeds in moist thickets near streams in northern and mountainous parts of Arizona, including the White Mountains and San Francisco Peaks. During migration, it is widespread throughout the state, often feeding in willows and riparian shrubs. Wilson’s Warblers are inquisitive and tame, frequently appearing at eye level. Their song is a rapid series of bright, chattering notes.
