The Louisiana Waterthrush (Parkesia motacilla) resembles its northern cousin but is paler with a bright white eyebrow. It is a rare visitor to Arizona, occasionally breeding in mountain streams of the Huachucas and Chiricahuas. Its clear, whistled song can sometimes be heard echoing along remote canyon creeks. The bird below was photographed at Madera Canyon, where it was banded.
