The Nashville Warbler passes through Arizona during migration, particularly in spring. It is a bright, active bird with a gray head, white eye ring, and yellow underparts. Breeding farther north, it favors birch and aspen forests, but in Arizona it stops over in oak-pine foothills and riparian groves. Its flight is quick and direct, and its sweet, ringing song can be heard as it forages among low branches. Though brief in its visits, the Nashville Warbler is one of the most colorful and noticeable migrants each spring.
