ArizonaBirds.com was created to celebrate and share the incredible birdlife of Arizona—one of the premier birding destinations in North America. With more than 560 species recorded in the state, Arizona offers a unique blend of desert specialties, migratory stopovers, and tropical birds that reach the northern edge of their range in the “Sky Island” mountains of the southeast.

Our mission is to provide birders, photographers, and nature enthusiasts with a comprehensive resource for exploring Arizona’s diverse habitats and birding hotspots. Whether you’re searching for Elegant Trogons in Madera Canyon, hummingbirds in Ramsey Canyon, or wintering sparrows in the San Rafael Valley, ArizonaBirds.com is here to guide your journey.

Who We Are
ArizonaBirds.com was founded by Francis Morgan, a professional wildlife photographer and longtime Arizona birder. Francis has spent years documenting every regularly occurring species in the state for his upcoming large-format photography book Arizona Birds. His goal is to share not just photographs, but also the stories of Arizona’s birds and the landscapes they call home.
